Greece is one of the oldest wine producing regions in the World and yet, so few get an opportunity to sample some her finest wines.  This evening will be dedicated to the rich and diverse wine heritage of Greece at the award-winning Nostos restaurant in Hove for an unparalleled experience in Greek gastronomy and viticulture.

Discover Greece’s Wine Heritage

We will immerse you in the flavours of four prominent Greek wine regions: Macedonia, Peloponnese, Crete, and Santorini. Each region offers unique characteristics and grape varieties that we will explore throughout the evening.

The evening includes:

  • A welcome glass of Curators Cuvée 2018, Artelium Vineyard, East Sussex
  • Six distinguished Greek wines to taste, paired expertly with an exclusive 3-course dinner crafted by Nostos’ head chef, Alex Tzimos, designed to pair with the wines.  See the menu and wine selections below.  Special dietary requirements can be catered for if requested a few days in advance.

We commence with tasting two white wines and then four reds, all served in pairs with the following dishes.

Idaia Vidiano 2022, Crete & Gaia Thalassitis Assyrtiko 2022, Santorini 

served with
(per person) pita, a dip of agioreitiki melitzanosalata (traditional aubergine dip), a dolmadaki with lemon gel/ aromatic coconut yogurt and a tartlet filled with sea bass ceviche

*Second Wine Pairing*
Gaia Notios red 2022, Peloponnese & Agiorgitiko by Gaia 2022, Peloponnese
served with 
(for sharing between 2) mini chicken skewer marinated in middle eastern spices served with grilled tender-stem broccoli with miso dressing and sesame seeds plus 
Greek sausage served with braised butterbeans, herbs, tomato and lemon notes

*Third Wine Pairing*
Xinomavro Reserve Vieillies Vignes 2020, Single Block Barba Yannis, Macedonia & Ktima Gerovassiliou ‘Avaton’ 2020, Epanomi, Macedonia
served with
(per person) Lamb shank braised with rosemary, thyme and fresh oregano served with sweet potato puree and red wine and lamb jus

At the end of the meal we will be joined by head chef, Alex Tzimos, who will talk us through his thinking behind how he matched the flavours of the wines with the dishes he created.
