The Business Leaders Wine Club, Brighton, 26/7/2023

We will be focusing on some excellent wines from Beaujolais for our July event.

This fascinating region occupies the southern outpost of Burgundy and certainly produces the more playful wines from this exceptional region in South-West France.  Perhaps the most notable example of its playfulness is Beaujolais Nouveau, which celebrates the new vintage on the third Thursday in November shortly after harvest.  But there many excellent examples of wines that are worthy of attention for any serious wine drinker that tend to be overlooked in the UK.

The best wines come from the 10 crus, the classified villages within the region that are recognised for their exceptional quality, such as Fleurie, Julienas and Morgan.  We will select 4 crus for you to taste, including a white Beaujolais, in addition to the usual welcome glass of sparkling wine.

We are delighted to welcome The Great British Charcuterie Company as our new cheese sponsors, with the added bonus of them introducing such fine charcuterie to go with the wines for our events.
